What are the differences between the Nassau Tennis Club – College Placement Program and SportsWorx.com?
The Nassau Tennis Club – College Placement Program is a specialized recruiting service for tennis players. The College Placement Program offers individualized assistance (sold through packages) throughout all the steps of the recruiting process, which includes: preparing a recruiting video, registering with the NCAA Eligibility Center, identifying schools with best fit, contacting coaches, negotiating scholarships, and many other important aspects of the recruiting process.
On the other hand, SportsWorx.com is an educational based website that offers many researching tools for its members, so players and parents can be prepared to face the challenges during the recruiting process. These tools include the ability to search for schools according to diverse criteria such as: sport, location, size of the institution, NCAA affiliation, cost, academic requirements, major offered, and many more. As a result of the search, a list of schools and the contact information of all the coaches listed (in the selected sport) is shown. Furthermore, you receive reminders throughout your High School career of important tasks that should be completed at different times. Additionally, players create their own profiles, in which they can upload videos, transcripts, recommendation letters, schedule of competition, pictures, news releases and more!
The COMBINATION of both offerings, College Placement Program packages and SportsWorx.com, significantly increases one’s knowledge and ability to market themselves to College Coaches and, therefore, to obtain a scholarship at their school of choice.
Can I sign up for the SportsWorx.com and not sign up for one of the packages offered by the Nassau Tennis Club – College Placement Program?
Yes. The College Placement Program and SportsWorkx.com can function separately. A student-athlete can choose which services fit him/her best, which may be: 1) Membership at SportsWorx.com. 2) One of the packages offered by the Nassau Tennis Club – College Placement Program. 3) A combination of both a membership with SportsWorx.com and a package with the College Placement Program.
Is SportsWorx.com similar to TennisRecruiting.net?
No. These websites have very distinct objectives. SportsWorx.com teaches you and how to navigate through the recruiting process, without giving you a rating according to your results. On the other hand, TennisRecruiting.net provides you a rating based on results. Therefore, in many cases, a player can be more or less attractive based on his/her rating.
See it this way: With TennisRecruiting.net, student-athletes are the “fish” and hope to be hooked by a Coach’s bait. With SportsWorx.com, players learn how to fish and, then, go fishing for themselves in waters where they know (based on their research) they can be successful.
Both websites can be very helpful and important in the journey as they serve different functions in the recruiting process. While the rating system is great for a player with a very strong athletic background, this system may not be as helpful for those with fewer results.
Can Coaches look up players on SporsWorkx.com?
Yes. Coaches are able to search for players based on grades, location and other factors.
Do I need to be a club member to be involved with SportsWorx.com?
No. The membership is open for club members and non-members. However, those who sign up through Nassau Tennis Club receive additional benefits.
In which grade do I sign up for SportsWorx.com?
The membership is open to High School freshmen to seniors. The earlier you enroll the better, but even seniors can significantly benefit from SportsWorx.com’s tools.
How much does it cost to have a membership with SportsWorx.com?
Nassau members enrolled in programs, twice a week or more, receive their membership for FREE. Members enrolled in programs only once a week receive a 50% discount on membership dues. Non-members receive a 25% discount of their membership dues, if they sign up through us. Full retail price varies from $19.99 to $39.99 per month, depending on the student-athletes year in High School.
